Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church has purchased 3.2 acres of land in Coral Bay to build a chapel, which will be named, St. Therese. Prior to Hurricanes Irma and Maria, we used Johns Folly Learning Institute to celebrate Mass. We have celebrated the Sacraments at this venue. We have been an instrument of the new evangelization. We took the gospel into the trenches of Coral Bay as Pope Benedict instructed.
One of the goals in building this church is to reach out to the many Catholics who live in Coral Bay. Also, to make church accessible to the many tourists and vacation owners who visit these shores yearly and stay in Coral Bay.
The aim is to also build an all-purpose hall that the people of St. John will be able to utilize for meetings and functions. St. John has a serious need for such a hall. This venue will also have plenty of parking.
